Halloween becomes scarier

As expected, the Pumpkin Fest event has been extended for the second week. Besides a new enemy, there are also new rewards and the community asks which of the two is scarier.

The Pumpkin burn

After the Dark Army leader strikes with powerful ice attacks, the new boss is focused on fire. The name Inferno Lantern fits very well, since in addition to the classic Fire spell, he also has a fire breath called Blazing Breath, which hits all allies. Before you can really damage the Inferno Lanterns, you must first take out up to 4 waves of supporters. During this time, the boss also has a very high defense and takes almost no damage, which is further enhanced with his Fortification skill.

Especially has the attack Maleficent Surge, which is also mastered by the Dark Army Leader. The longer the fight lasts, the more damage this attack inflicts, so that it eventually wipes out the entire party with one attack. Therefore, you should not only focus on a high MDEF and resistances against fire, but also cause damage accordingly. To do this, you can lower his MDEF and PDEF once and strike with strong wind attacks. You may have already enhanced appropriate weapons for the previous Pumpkin Fest.

Weak reward for Lucia

As a reward for defeating the Inferno Lanterns, this time you get the green Doltish Lanterns. With these, you can purchase Memory Crystal for Cloud and Lucia, as well as 5 high-level Synth Catalyst – Evening.

As a weapon, there is the Pumpkin Blaster for Lucia, which meets with great disapproval from the community. The weapon has the same C.Ability as the SSR1976. Both guns increase your MDEF with Stalwart Manaward and Solid Manaward respectively. So the weapon does not increase your skill selection and its stats are even worse than the SSR1976! So there is no reason to spend the Doltish Lanterns for the Pumpkin Blaster and level up the weapon!

For a limited time event and for the first seasonal event ever, this is very annoying that you don’t allow better rewards here. Actually, many players had hoped for new outfits for Glenn, since he has so far gone completely empty.

The event will continue for another week and we can only hope that Square Enix will come up with better rewards for the Christmas event. How about the too rare Mythril Ore?
