Final Fantasy and summons are inseparable, so of course they have to exist in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. Here you can find out how the Summons work.

Requirements and Availability

Already at the beginning of the story, you can see the portrait of Ifrit in the Growth tab, but there is no further tooltip about it. With the end of the 1st chapter of Crisis Core you also know that Ifrit is implemented as an enemy with all its attacks.

In order to get access to the Fire Demon and the other Summons, you must first complete The First Soldier Chapter 3 „An Unfamiliar, Hostile Island“ and be able to raise about 40,000 – 45,000 Power Points. Upon completion, you will have access to the Summon Quest and the Trails of Summons. There you must defeat a Summon at least once to unlock the Summon in the Growth tab.

Summon Streams and Binding

Now, however, there is one more hurdle to overcome. Summons are handled the same way as Limit Breaks: in order to unlock a new Limit, you must fulfill a series of conditions. To do this, you must first select and bind a Summon. Only one summon can be bound at a time! Now you have to collect material, spend stamina in solo and co-op fights and above all you need Memory Crystals of the respective summon. But you should already have these by defeating it for the first time.

As soon as all conditions are fulfilled, you can unlock the Summon and from now on every character can equip a Summon instead of their own Limit Breaks.

Strong, Stronger, Summoner

Right from the start, the attacks of Ifrit, Shiva and Ramuh are slightly stronger than the normal Limit Breaks and have at least a 1000% potency. Like Chars, you can further upgrade the summons. Once you can increase the level of the Limit, with level 5 you can unlock another attack and further increase the Potency and the recharge speed. This requires additional Memory Crystals, which you can obtain through long-term grinds in the Trails of Summon.

What are the Summons?

So far, there are three summons: Ifrit, the fire devil; Shiva, the ice princess; and Ramuh, the thunder god. It’s hard to believe that Bahamuth, Leviathan and the other summons from Final Fantasy VII will follow.
